From 1 February 2020, the weekly income threshold for the higher Class A Employer PRSI increases from €386 to €395. For January 2020 the €386 threshold for the higher Class A employer rate remains unchanged.
Minimum wage will also increase 30c to €10.10 from February 2020.
Weekly earnings up to and including €395 will attract the lower employer Class A rate.
Where weekly earnings exceed €395, the higher Class A employer rate will apply.
Please note there are no changes to Class A Employee PRSI rates or the Employee PRSI tax credit.
As a result of the changes above, Classes AX and AL will have different thresholds in 2020. You can view the full list of upcoming changes on Welfare’s website.
